Education
The Wereldmuseum has a rich historical collection with art from Asia, Africa, America and Oceania. For schoolchildren, a visit to the museum is a unique experience. Not only do they see ethnographic artworks and, through the artifacts, learn about cultures, religions and art. They are also in a museum and walking through a building with a royal history.
The permanent exhibition 'The Collection' is ideally suited to introducing schoolchildren to art and to different religions and regions of the world. A visit to the Wereldmuseum can be an interesting element of a project week on such subjects as respect, world, faith, happiness, and Asia.
Besides the permanent collection, the Wereldmuseum each year presents two much talked-about thematic exhibitions in which remarkable ethnographic art objects are displayed from around the world.
For each special exhibition the Wereldmuseum offers educational programmes at primary and secondary levels. For students at the tertiary level we offer custom-made guided tours.
